Cine financier, pregnant wife commit suicide

Kadapa: A film financier and his pregnant wife allegedly committed suicide by consuming poison here today, police said.

Balaji (30) and his wife Bharathi (28) consumed poison at their home in Kotha Madhavaram, about 30 km from here, Sub-Inspector Ramakrishna told reporters here.
Balaji use to mobilise huge amounts of money from locals at low interest rates and use to lend them to cine producers in Hyderabad on higher interest, police said.

Failure to pay the local investors on time and increasing pressure from them may have driven the couple to end their lives, they said.
Bharathi was expecting her second child. The couple has a four-year-old daughter.
