Elaborate Arrangements on for Foundation Laying Ceremony of Andhra Pradesh Capital

Vijayawada: Elaborate arrangements are underway for the foundation stone laying ceremony of Andhra Pradesh capital city Amaravati near in Vijayawada by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on October 22.

Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Monday held a review with senior officials on the arrangements for the event which is likely to see a few lakh people attending, an official release said.

Director General of Police JV Ramudu and other police officials made a presentation in the meeting on arrangements for security and traffic management, it said, adding  8,331 policemen are being deployed for the purpose.

Mr Naidu directed that the vehicles carrying water and soil from the 13 districts in the state and also from the important pilgrim centres in the country should come to the capital region in a rally.

The foundation stone would be laid at Uddandarayunipalem village in Guntur district on the 'Vijaya Dasami' day on October 22.

Mr Naidu suggested that Vijaywada be beautified. The Chief Minister also directed officials to take all precautions to see that the mega event is conducted smoothly without inconvenience to anyone, the release added.
