Koneru Prasad, the key accused in the Emaar scam case, filed a petition seeking bail in the special CBI court on Monday.
The court posted the petition, the second bail application filed by Prasad, for December 8.
In the petition, Prasad, now lodged in the Chanchalguda prison, alleged that the CBI has not been able to arrest key persons in the case while continuing to insist on his custody.
Prasad's counsel S Someswar Rao pleaded that bail was necessary for his client in view of his ill-health. He produced medical certificates attesting that Prasad was prone to convulsions. The petition argued that Prasad's business interests have suffered due to his spell in custody.
Further, the petition said Prasad has already cooperated with the CBI in accounting for transactions worth Rs 117 crore in sale of Emaar villas.
Moreover, he had scrupulously fulfulled the conditions laid down in interim bail for five days last month.
