The engineeering student had lost both his parents in 2013 and 2014
An engineering student was found hanging at his home in Andhra Pradesh's Vijaywada on Saturday.
Puvala Prem Kumar, 22, studied at the Nova Engineering College.
He was reportedly depressed as he had not cleared his exams for three years and was finding it difficult to cope with his studies. He did not leave any suicide note.
The fourth-year student of electrical and electronics engineering had lost both his parents in 2013 and 2014. He had become lonely, according to his brother and roommates.
His brother Puvala Nagarjuna said they belong to the Madiga Scheduled Caste community and are from the East Godavari district.
Mr Kumar's death comes as another suicide by a Dalit student has triggered a political storm.
Rohith Vemula, a 26-year-old research student, hung himself last week at the Hyderabad Central University days after being denied access to the hostel and other common areas on campus for allegedly beating an activist of the BJP's student wing. Students and opposition parties allege that Rohith faced social boycott because he was Dalit.
