English questions leave Telugu students at loss

Hyderabad: Candidates writing the Junior Lecturers' Exam on Saturday were left puzzled after they found no Telugu translation to about 50 to 60 questions out of 150 total questions in General Studies paper.

Students at some examination centres even had an argument with the invigilators but they continued to write the exam.

Speaking to Express, an aspirant S Shankar said they found it hard understand questions as the Andhra Pradesh Public Service Commission gave no Telugu translations to about 50 to 60 questions.

Particularly, about 20 arithmetic and reasoning questions were given in English only which the Telugu medium students found it difficult to understand and answer.

While aspirants at all exam centres raised the issue, invigilators at the centres asked students to write the examination and to approach the APPSC latter.

Telangana Intermediate Education JAC leader, P Madhusudhan Reddy demanded the APPSC to do justice as most aspirants are from the Telugu medium. He demanded the state government to intervene in the matter.

Each question in the General Studies paper carries one mark.
