Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh:
A goods train derailed on Wednesday close to signal point at Borra railway station near Visakhapatnam, disrupting traffic between Visakhapatnam and Kirandul section of the East Coast Railway.
"The wheels of front wagon of the Kirandul-bound goods train derailed at Borra railway station, about 60-70 kms from Visakhapatnam, at around 6 am as the train was proceeding from Visakhapatnam station," East Coast Railway division's official B Jairam said.
This caused disruption of further movement, particularly of the goods trains, on the track, he said.
Owing to the derailment, the Visakhapatnam-Kirandul passenger train and the return train from Kirandul will be sent back from Koraput, he said.
The railway track is expected to be restored by the evening, he added.
