Haryana Chief Minister Congratulates People of Andhra Pradesh for New State Capital

Chandigarh: Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar today congratulated the people of Andhra Pradesh as the Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid foundation stone for building their new capital city in Amaravati.

Extending greetings to his Andhra Pradesh counterpart Chandrababu Naidu the Haryana Chief Minister said establishment of new capital would usher in a new chapter of progress and development in the state.

Mr Khattar also thanked Mr Naidu for his invitation to the foundation stone laying ceremony and expressed regret for his absence due to engagements in his home state.

Observing that the new capital was named after an ancient political and cultural capital Mr Khattar expressed hope that Amaravati would retain its historical significance and at the same time reflect modernity and progress.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid foundation stone for Andhra's capital city Amaravati at Uddandarayunipalem village on the banks of river Krishna in Guntur district this morning.
