The Andhra Pradesh High Court dismissed a revision petition filed by V Vijay Sai Reddy, accused in the Y S Jaganmohan Reddy's assets case, seeking a direction to the agency to release his laptop.
Justice K C Bhanu observed that Vijay Sai's laptop stores several incriminating documents which are useful for the investigating agency and release of the laptop at this juncture would jeopardise the investigation.
Earlier, the special court for CBI cases had also rejected Vijay Sai's plea seeking access to the laptop. Sai, who is said to be close aide of Jagan and also the vice-chairman of Jagati Publications Pvt Ltd (JPPL), is currently under judicial remand. In his earlier petition filed in the local court, Sai had said that it was essential for him to assist Jagan in auditing his companies and defending him in several cases launched by CBI and the Enforcement Directorate.
The CBI had filed an FIR against Jaganmohan and 73 others including Vijay Sai.
The investigating agency had alleged that various investors, who are beneficiaries of public properties, licenses among others, had invested in the companies promoted by Jagan at very high premiums as a quid-pro-quo to the favours doled out by former chief minister late Y S Rajasekhar Reddy on his son's (Jagan's) influence.
