Hyderabad: Describing Home Minister P Sabita Indra Reddy as a 'lady don', textiles and handlooms minister P Shankar Rao, who has a running feud with her, has demanded that she be removed from the cabinet forthwith, holding her and her son Karthik Reddy responsible for the recent attack on him at NTR Nagar near LB Nagar.
Talking with reporters here on Saturday, he said he would approach SC and ST Commission to seek action against the attackers.
"I had never been attacked in the past even in the face of my bitter feud with YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, Gali Janardhan Reddy, Rahejas and Emaar," he said and regretted that neither the chief minister nor the police were taking the attack on him seriously. "The attack has scared my family members. If anything happens to me, the lady don will be responsible," he said.
Even as the press conference was going on, the minister burst out at his staff for distributing photostat copies of the documents relating to Sabita Indra Reddy's properties to reporters and requested them to return the documents.
"These documents are meant for submission in the court. The very fact that my staff distributed them to you proves that even they have been bought," he said.
Earlier in the day, the chief minister is understood to have asked the chief secretary to furnish Shankar Rao's office immediately. As there was no furniture in his office, Shankar Rao held a review meeting with officials, squatting on the floor.
