Indefinite fast by junior medicos in AP enters fifth day

Hyderabad: The indefinite fast undertaken by some of the junior doctors in Andhra Pradesh, who have been agitating for hike in their stipend among other issues, entered the fifth day today.

Noting that some of the demands of the medicos have been accepted, state Health Minister D L Ravindra Reddy said the junior doctors were not flexible in their approach.

Expressing anger over his comments, the junior doctors alleged that the minister was "callous" and that they are ready to boycott even the emergency duties.

The agitating doctors have held talks with the minister and also officials which have so far failed to break the ice.
