Hyderabad: If it was Airbus's jumbo A-380 in2008, Boeing's 'Dreamliner' 787-8 aircraft would be thecynosure of all eyes when it touches down in India for thefirst time for India Aviation-2012 expo, beginning here onMarch 14, in the centenary year of civil aviation in India.
"The primary objective of the event is to attractinvestments in the aerospace sectors in the country in generaland AP in particular," FICCI Regional Director (trade fairs)Vivek Kodikal said.
While India is the host, UK will be the partner country,France the focus country and the US "guest country", he said.
The Dreamliner, which would be inducted into Air Indiafleet soon, would be on display for three days at the biennialaero show at the Begumpet Airport here.
Hindustan Aeronautics Limited will showcase its LightUtility Helicopter (LUH) that is currently in the developmentstage. Powered by a single engine, the LUH is to be deployedfor Reconnaissance and Surveillance role.
In all, 22 aircraft will be on static display, with 21airline companies from across the globe will be participating.The beleaguered Kingfisher, which was one of the main sponsorsof India Aviation in the previous two editions, would bemissing this time.
"I kept up the intensity through the week since I shot atotal of eight under in four rounds. My hitting was spot-on onall days and I saved a lot of pars. This win could be aturning point in my career as it has instilled a lot ofself-belief in me.
