Lakshmi Parvathi out of NTR's house

Hyderabad: NTR's widow and founder-president of NTR TDP party, Lakshmi Parvathi has to face humiliation on Friday when she was evicted from her house on Road Number 13, Banjara Hills forcibly and all the household articles were taken away by the City Civil Court (CCC) authorities.

Armed with court orders, NTR's family led by son N Ramakrishna took possession of the house (H.No 8-2-674\2\2, Road No. 13, Banjara Hills) even as Lakshmi Parvathi's lawyer pleaded with City Civil Court authorities and police to give a few more days time for his client to move out of the house. Lakshmi Parvathi was in Guntur on a private visit when Ramakrishna, accompanied by policemen and CCC authorities arived at the premises and took possession of the property. Lakshmi Parvathi's mother Lakshmi Swarajyam, two servants and a lawyer were present at that time. "I am shocked. Household articles and belongings were taken away from my house. Not even three days time was given to me. I was in any way making alternative arrangements but the house which I was to take on rent was not ready yet," she told media persons, grieving over the way NTR's family was 'hounding' her.

The house has special significance as the late N T Rama Rao and Lakshmi Parvathi lived there after their marriage in 1993.  This was the same house where NTR lived as Chief Minister during his second term and died in the same house in January 1996.

CCC authorities engaged labourers and DCM vans and shifted small household articles, including the rosewood chair used by NTR,  an almirah and steel utensils. The house had old Telugu literature books, a large number of photo frames of Lakshmi Parvathi and NTR, paintings, plaques and household articles. One DCM van was filled with books.

All the confiscated articles will be kept in a locker on CCC premises. They will be returned if Lakshmi Parvathi is interested to take them back by giving 'an assurance' to the court. The associates of Ramakrishna along with CCC authorities and police moved all the furniture and other articles from the house. The house was built by NTR in the name of his last daughter Umamaheswari, who lives in Chennai. After the death of NTR, Uma gave General Power of Attorney (GPA) to Ramakrishna, who approached various courts for the possession of the house.

According to officials, K Umamaheswari is the landlord of the house. Ramakrishna filed a civil case in 1998 in the CCC against Lakshmi Parvathi (Os.No. 82\99) seeking to evict her from the house. The CCC on January 18, 2005, gave orders in favour of Umamaheshwari and asked Lakshmi Parvathi to vacate the house within three months.

Parvathi then approached the High Court and filed a petition against the order of the CCC, bearing case No.104\2005. The petition was dismissed by the High Court in march this year confirming the CCC order and gave her two months time to vacate the house. Then, she approached the Supreme Court and filed an SLP. On June 29 this year, the Supreme Court dismissed the SLP and gave her time up to six months (till November 30, 2011) to vacate the house. Lakshmni Parvathi's lawyer approached the CCC for more time but the court dismissed her plea stating that they cannot interfere with the Supreme Court orders and directed her to vacate the house. "The court's order is being executed as she failed to give any date to vacate the house to the court," Ramakrishna told reporters.
