Hyderabad:
Senior IPS officer A Ponnuswamy has taken over as Additional Director General (ADG)of CRPF's Southern Zone that consists of seven states.
He belongs to Tamil Nadu cadre. As ADG based in Hyderbad, Ponnuswamy will head the entire CRPF formationslocated in Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Gujarat, Maharashtra and Goa, a release from the para-military force said.
He has been decorated with Police Medal for meritorious service and President's Police Medal for distinguished service, it added.
