The hill shrine of Tirumala in Andhra Pradesh was shut down to devotees on Tuesday night in view of the solar eclipse.
The first solar eclipse of 2016 occurred today and India witnessed a partial eclipse between 05.38 am and 6.50 am.
Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam (TTD), which manages the affairs of the famous temple for, closed the doors around 8.30 pm yesterday for 14 hours.
The solar eclipse today commenced at 5.47 am and concluded at 9.08 am.
