A woman, along with her husband, have been arrested for allegedly poisoning a four-year-old child to death.
V Jyothi was arrested after parents of the child told the police she killed their son due to old enmity.
Dhananjay was at a chid care centre, when Jyothi visited and allegedly fed him snacks laced with rat poison on Friday. The helped had gone out for some work during her visit and the centre in-charge was away for a meeting.
Dhananjay started vomiting and was rushed to a hospital in the nearby Ongole town. As his condition worsened, his parents shifted him to a government-run hospital in Guntur where he died on Sunday.
Jyothi was arrested after Dhananjay's parents and other family members staged a sit-in at the police station to demand justice. They alleged that Jyothi murdered the child due to enmity. The police also arrested her husband Sreenu.
