Rajahmundry, Andhra Pradesh: A 32-year-old woman was seriously injured today after her husband allegedly attacked her with an axe at a local court premises in West Godavari district of Andhra Pradesh, police said.
According to Deputy superintendent of Police Sowmya Latha, the victim - Vasundhara was attacked by her husband Satyanarayana (35) on court premises at Palakollu, where she came to attend the proceedings of a harassment case that she had filed against him.
"Vasundara had been admitted in the Eluru Government General hospital from where she was referred to Kakinada Government General hospital for better treatment," the DSP said.
Satyanarayana reportedly fled from the scene soon after the incident took place. A search operation is currently under way, police said.
