Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has said good wishes and blessings are required for the state's new capital Amaravati and he would invite several leaders, including his bete noire and Telangana counterpart K Chandrasekhar Rao, for the foundation stone laying ceremony.
Briefing reporters, he said that invitations would be sent to Andhra Pradesh Leader of Opposition YS Jaganmohan Reddy as well.
"We will invite KCR, Jagan Mohan and everybody... We will invite everybody because we want everyone's blessings. It is a new capital and their good wishes and blessings are required for the new capital," he said while replying to a query on whether Mr Rao, Mr Reddy and Congress president Sonia Gandhi would be invited for the foundation stone laying ceremony next week.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi would attend the foundation stone laying function on October 22 and the state government is planning to make it a grand event.
The state government had already announced that the celebrations for the new capital of Andhra Pradesh, Amaravati, would begin on October 13 and continue till October 22.
Elaborating about the features of the new capital, Mr Naidu said that Amaravati would be a blue and green city, where green energy would be promoted in a big way.
"It will be a blue green city. We are promoting green energy in a big way. You are going to see, it will be one of the best city on energy saving," he said.
