Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal calls off the protest
Delhi chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has called off his demonstration in the heart of the city. In exchange, Delhi's Lieutenant Governor Najeeb Jung, who is the Centre's representative in Delhi, has promised to fast-track an inquiry against policemen targeted by Mr Kejriwal's party for alleged inaction.

This evening, surrounded by supporters, Mr Kejriwal announced that he is truncating his protest in the heart of the capital.
However, the chief minister warned, "If any woman of Delhi is attacked, then we will not sit quietly." (Track LIVE updates)
He has been stationed there since last morning when he was stopped en route to the Home Ministry, where he had planned to demonstrate against union Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde.
Today saw violence erupt as the police clashed with supporters of Mr Kejriwal, some of who tried to storm through barricades and threw stones at riot police. (See pics)
The chief minister's sit-in created traffic jams, forced the shutdown of major metro stations, and threatened to impede arrangements needed for the Republic Day parade on Sunday.
Lieutenant Governor Najeeb Jung has said that he will expedite an investigation against five Delhi police officers accused of inaction by Mr Kejriwal and his ministers. The policemen refused to make a series of arrests ordered by AAP ministers who alleged they were fighting for women's safety.
The police officers say didn't have the needed warrants.
Two of those police officers have been forced to go on leave today, as part of the compromise offered to Mr Kejriwal.
Mr Kejriwal wants control of the Delhi Police, which reports to the Centre, transferred to his government.
Prime Minister Manmohan Singh met President Pranab Mukherjee this evening and discussed the situation in Delhi with him. (Read)
