Unprecedented Security for Narendra Modi's Swearing-In Ceremony on Monday

New Delhi: Unprecedented ground-to-air security cover on par with the Republic Day, have been put in place for the swearing-in of the 15th Prime Minister of the country. (Rashtrapati Bhawan All Set for Narendra Modi's Swearing-In on Monday)

For the first time, the heads of eight states will be present and after the recent attack on the Indian consulate in Afghanistan, Delhi police has ensured a multi-layered security ring is being thrown around Raisina Hills and all offices around it will be closed five hours before the swearing-in ceremony. Delhi Police is leaving no stone unturned for Narendra Modi's mega swearing-in ceremony on Monday.

Over 6000 security personnel have been deployed in a five-tier security arrangement for a guest list of 4000 VIPs. However special security has been put in place for three of the leaders, namely Narendra Modi, Nawaz Sharif and Mahinda Rakpaksa.

Amongst other preparations, Section 144 has been implemented in Delhi, air defence system is on high alert to secure the skies and snipers will be deployed on all high-rise buildings around Raisina Hills. (Narendra Modi to Shift to 7 Race Course Road on Monday night)

Mobile hit teams, anti-aircraft guns and sharpshooters of National Security Guard (NSG) will also be deployed besides paramilitary personnel and Delhi Police commandos to secure the area.

"We will ensure complete sanitization of the area through the day and this will be done to ensure minimum inconvenience to Delhites" said MK Meena, Jt. CP New Delhi Range.

As the day progresses all eyes will be on Rashtrapati Bhawan. The sprawling forecourt lawns are being made ready for the ceremony. The lawns have been filled with chairs and arrangements are being made for visitors to brave the summer heat in the national capital.
