Besides terror mastermind
Yasin Bhatkal, another key Indian Mujahideen operative close to him was arrested last night.
Asadullah Akhtar, who was a bomb planter in the terror outfit, was arrested moments after Bhatkal.
Asadullah, who belongs to Azamgarh in Uttar Pradesh, is also wanted in several terror cases and has a reward of 10 lakh on him. He is said to be known as 'Haddi' in the terror outfit.
His father Javed Akhtar is an orthopedic surgeon who once contested a Lok Sabha election. According to him, Asadullah had graduated with a pharmacy degree from Lucknow.
He is allegedly involved in blasts in Varanasi, Ahmedabad and Jaipur.
Born in Lucknow, Asadullah was allegedly tasked to recruit well-educated men for Indian Mujahideen.
