Kolkata:
West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee today accused the central government of neglecting her state in the railway budget.
"Whatever happened is unfortunate. Parliament is the pillar of democracy... Bengal has been given nothing. Are we beggars?" Ms Banerjee, a former Railway minister, said in Kolkata.
"Bengal is deprived and insulted at the hands of the Centre's new government. In today's perspective, such deprivation and insult has anyone seen?" she said in a Facebook post.
Railway Minister DV Sadananda Gowda presented the railway budget for 2014-15 in Parliament earlier today and announced 58 new trains.
