After he was declared the head of the committee that will lead the BJP into the national elections, Gujarat Chief Minister
Narendra Modi, in a 45-minute-long speech, addressed the 300 party leaders present at the Goa conclave.
Following are the highlights of his address:- Thankful to Rajnath Singh for not just entrusting thisresponsibility but such an honour
- Rajnath Singh did not let me speak before him; this is not a function of position but of his large heartedness
- We are all workers and it is our responsibility to do whatever is entrusted to us
- BJP's senior leaders have molded me... ignored my mistake
- We will not leave any stone unturned... I trust BJP leaders
- These (party workers) all people used to work
- Today in Kerala, Nagaland, Mizoram, our workers have spent their life time... they were killed
- There are workers who have worked from generation to generation... they did not come on TV or newspapers... but they have worked for the party
- We're in politics to serve. We need to win elections so that we can work for the people
- Rajnath Singh was CM of UP; has he ever been accused of corruption? Has any BJP Chief Minister been accused of corruption?
- Then why are those sitting in Delhi accused - they have become corruption proof

- Arun Jaitley said well begun is half-done; I say well begun is half won
- You can neither have expectations from this government nor trust it. Trust is the biggest thing in the world
- The people of this country have lost their faith; and they continue to lose it with the events that are unfolding
- This government changes its policies at midnight and you would not know it if the Supreme Court did not question them
- People are saying Goa is lucky for Modi; the question is not of luck
- Whenever Goa has blessed me, that project has attained new heights and this time to the work entrusted will achieved in the grandest manner
- Article 356 was used wrongly by the Congress in the past; Raj Bhawans had become Congress Bhawans. And now they have employed the CBI to suppress the opposition
- Congress has weakened institutions
- Planning Commission is chaired by the PM. Why do they have the NAC now on top of them - that too headed by Madam?
- I told the PM not just in the NAC, even in the Planning Commission there is a person who had been accused of colluding with Naxals. The PM had no answers
- They keep saying it is a coalition compulsion; the foreign minister starts reading another country's speech at the UN, is that a compulsion
- They are running the country in a non-serious way; they have taken the people from granted
- We have to focus on the youth of this country; why is it that there are so many protests at Jantar Mantar?
- During Vajpayee's tenure, there was trust - we all felt the country is growing. There was positive feeling. From 2004, it has been a sinking feeling
- We are not out to grab power, we must win back the trust of the millions of Indians
- The people are so upset with the Congress that they were wiped out in the recent by-polls
- Whether we are read about in the newspapers or seen on TV, we must leave our imprint in the hearts of the people
- Due to policy paralysis, we have power plants but no coal. Why is there no coal? Because there is no policy
- Can a country run like this?
- The Law Minister wants to make laws for fixing; they can't and he does not know that this is a state subject
