New Delhi:
Congress General Secretary Digvijaya Singh met Prime Minister Manmohan Singh today in Delhi and apprised him of the law and order situation in Uttar Pradesh.
Mr Singh alleged that most crimes in Uttar Pradesh go unreported, and the claim that the crime rate has fallen is totally false.
The latest crime figures for Uttar Pradesh are misleading, alleged Mr Singh.
Later talking to presspersons he said, "We have apprised the PM of the deteriorating law and order situation in UP. Two CMOs and a Dy CMO have been murdered. The trail could very well lead to Mayawati's office. It will be in her own interest to order a CBI probe, else she could get caught in the net."
The Congress leader was accompanied by Rita Bahuguna Joshi, the UPCC Chief, and a handful of Congress leader from the state.
