New Delhi/Hyderabad:
The Andhra Pradesh government has set up two special teams which will conduct an independent inquiry into the twin blasts which ripped through Hyderabad's Dilsukhnagar yesterday evening, killing 15 and injuring 119 people. The team will assist the National Investigation Agency (NIA) which is handling the case.
Union Home Secretary RK Singh said a post-blast investigation team of the National Security Guard, the country's premier counter-terror force, is also accompanying the NIA team. The NSG operates the National Bomb Data Centre.
The local unit of the NIA was already at the site of the blasts in Hyderabad, Mr Singh said.
PTI quoted sources to say that experts from the Chennai hub of the "black cat" commando force were also sent to the Andhra Pradesh capital.
Sources in the Home Ministry said the explosions were a terror strike by "a well-trained" group which timed the explosions to cause the maximum damage. Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde said the government had some intelligence inputs about a possible terror attack, but it had no specific details.
The Prime Minister has directed the central agencies to extend all possible help to the Andhra Pradesh state authorities in relief operations.
Delhi, Mumbai and other major cities in the country have been put on high alert after the Hyderabad blasts.
