Kiran Bedi to Take Over Harsh Vardhan's Room at BJP Office: Sources

The office being decorated according to the wishes of Dr Bedi.

The new entrant to the BJP, Kiran Bedi, will be occupying the room vacated by the party's former chief ministerial candidate Dr Harsh Vardhan, party sources told NDTV. The office at the BJP headquarters in the heart of Delhi -- larger than the one occupied by the party's Delhi unit chief Satish Upadhyay -- is being redecorated according to her wishes. Senior leaders are miffed about the attention being given to Ms Bedi by the party leadership.

On Thursday, the announcement about her joining the party was made at a media conference by BJP president Amit Shah and senior leader and Union minister Arun Jaitley. The BJP senior leadership has kept people guessing. Even on Sunday, 19 days before the elections, home minister Rajnath Singh said the decision on the chief ministerial candidate will be taken by the party's Parliamentary Board, which includes the Prime Minister and the party president among others. The party's Central Election Committee is expected to announce its list of candidates after a meeting on Monday.
