Saharanpur:
Hitting out at the Uttar Pradesh government over the recent communal clashes in Saharanpur, the BJP today alleged that the clashes were a result of the "administrative laxity" and "failure" of the law and order in the state.
"The Akhilesh government, which is blaming the BJP, must clarify why it gets into denial mode after every incident," party spokesman Vijay Bahadur Pathak told reporters.
He alleged that entire state was ashamed about whatever happened in Saharanpur due to "administrative laxity".
Mr Pathak alleged that due to the tendency of the government to take things lightly, even small disputes were turning into major incidents.
"While the loss of life and property is taking place, those sitting in the government are trying to protect themselves by giving baseless logic," he alleged.
The spokesman further alleged that the decisions of the government, which was following a "policy of appeasement", were becoming reasons for dispute.
"At time when administrative officers seem to don the role of the spokesmen of the ruling party, if the BJP plays the role of a responsible opposition, then what objection does the Chief Minister have," he asked.
