Madison Square Garden Programme Was Overwhelming: Narendra Modi

New York: Prime Minister Narendra Modi thanked Indian-Americans for the "overwhelming" public reception he received from the community at the Madison Square Garden in New York.

"The programme at Madison Square Garden was overwhelming. It was very special to interact with members of the diaspora. A big thank you," Mr Modi said in a tweet.

"Through their hardwork, actions & strong values, the Indian American community has earned immense respect.We are very proud of them," he said.

This was Mr Modi's first comment on social media after he addressed more than 18,500 Indian-Americans at the Madison Square Garden.
