New Delhi:
Today is the third and final day of the Bhartiya Janata Party's (BJP) strategy conclave for 2014. Narendra Modi speaks at the meet in Delhi.
Here are the highlights:
- Since two days, we have discussed in detail the condition of the country and BJP's political programmes.
- There have been many elections since independence but the 2014 elections is different from every side.
- The condition of India is worse than ever before.
- The corruption that is rampant now, has not been seen before.
- This is not an election to change the government, but it is an election of hope and change.
- the 2014 election is the election to bring India to the same summit that Vajpayee ji had brought us to before.
- They are trying to save the party and we are trying to save the country.
- This is the difference in the 2014 elections.
- Congress representatives across the country came to Delhi with hope. They were told that the Congress PM candidate will be disclosed.
- Congress workers came for a PM, went home with 3 cylinders instead.
- Loktantrik example was cited for not nominating PM candidate. Is it true?
- Noone chose Manmohan Singh as PM, they chose Sonia Gandhi but Ms Gandhi nominated Dr Singh.
- There can be many reasons to run from elections for MS Gandhi, I see political reasons but i see one more reason.
- When failure is so clear, will a mother sacrifice her own son?
- Nowadays, there is a lot of hospitality of tea vendors in the country.
- Their reason for running away from elections can be one more, the way of life that they lead, it influences their decisions.
- They consider it a question of shame to fight against a tea vendor.
- Woh naamdaar hain aur main kaamdaar hoon.
- A man who used to sell tea and whose mother used to clean people's utensils, how will they fight against a person like that.
- On October 27, in the midst of bomb explosions, the people who stood there - reminds me of what inspired martyrs to sacrifice themselves for India's independence.
- People had sacrificed their lives for independence, now they're clamouring for good governance.
- That is the reason why hundreds are joining the BJP, approach us seeking to work for us.
- Lakhs of people who have no ties with the BJP are concerned with the party.
- It is our belief, that every part of India should progress equally.
- We have heard a lot about concern for poor and progress.
- What was wrong in our policies that there is progress taking place in west India but entire east is in disarray.
- The western part of the country is moving towards the path of development.
- If the country has to become stronger, then regional aspirations should not be thought of as a roadbloack.
- Regional aspirations can become an opportunity to progress rather than a hindrance.
- We are a federal nation and it cannot be just adhered to as something constitutional.
- We need to respect it in letter and spirit.
- As a CM, I completely understand the importance of the federal strength of the nation.
- All the chief ministers and the prime minister should move together to make the nation stronger.
- If we can do this, we can help our nation top progress further.
- There is bad governance in certain areas in the country, We need to focus on good governance.
- Good governance is for the poor and not the rich.
- If there is bad governance, a poor man's son will not get education.
- We need to decide that whether we should believe in a tape recorders voice or the track record?
- We don't want 'bills', we need political will. Sirf dill nahi chahiya, political will chahiye.
- We have heard a lot about 'act' not the country needs 'action'.
- In the last 10 years, the prime minister has made a committee for every issue.
- We don't need committees, we need commitment.
- Mahatma Gandhi used to call India the nation of villages.
- The thing for which we can be proud of, are the women of the country.
- Women should be empowered. They should be educated and financially independents and secure.
- If in the coming decades, we want to keep India at the forefront, We need to make India strong with technological advance.
- The last thing that is important is the youth of the country. India is the youngest country in the world.
- If we had the right policies our youth would not only improve the nation but influence the world.
- Is the influence of western culture destroying the youth of our nation?
- Drugs, narcotics are affecting the youth of this country
- Democracy is the biggest asset of our nation
- Every mother wants her son to study and become successful. We need to stress on education.
- We need to make our democracy participative and not just representative, we need to think how we can make democratic systems stronger.
- We are creators of knowledge, India has always done well in the era of science.
- Congress party ek soch hain...this was said at AICC.
- Even I believe that's true. bina soch ke koi andolan ho sakta hain, na koi dhal.
- The country only knows that poora congress party soch main padi hui hain.
- I want to tell Indians that you have chosen leaders, I want to request my countrymen that you have 60 years to a leader, now give 60 months to a servant.
- Price rise is the biggest problem for a country. Can there be no solution to this?
- We do not have real-time data. We did not have real time data on the agriculture produce.
- We need to make a mechanism to measure data in real time. there should be real time data for need and demand and then we can decide what is to be imported and exported.
- Farmers should not be exploited. For black market, there should be special courts.
- If we take these steps, BJP will be able to stop price rise.
- Skill development should be done and it should be need base.
- We will be able to fight the war against poverty this way.
- We do not have human resource planning.
- If we plan human power strength now itself, we will be able to achieve development in coming years.
- It is the commitment of every BJP party worker that we will work to realise the dreams of Vajpayee ji.
- Money looted from our country will be brought back and given to people of the country.
- We cannot work by ourselves in the current globalization. We need to develop infrastructure.
- Agro infrastructure, gas grids, optical fibre net should be developed.
- We can make our place in this world.
- Japan brought the concept of bullet trains. We have such a huge railway line, why are we not applying it there too.
- We should have 4 railway universities that will give us the youth who will help us achieve that.
- After 8-9 years, it will be 75 years of India's independence.
- We should greet it with a new beginning in this country.
- In the world, we cannot show our face because of what is happening to the women in our country.
- Beti bachao, Beti padao should be our mission.
- There is no bigger dishonor that female foeticide
- We should see the women of our country as nation builder and not home maker.
- Urbanization should be seen as an opportunity and should be accepted as part of development.
- Why should we not develop 100 new cities in India? Why shouldn't there be a walk to work concept? Specialised cities like sports cities.
- There should be concept of twin cities, a net of cities in our country.
- Can't the poor hope to have their own homes?
- We need to provide shelter to every poor in the country.
- Per drop, more crop concept should be realized.
- Can't there be a white revolution in every city? And fulfil the milk requirements of the state?
- To make the farmers stronger, we need to work in this direction and we can change the current situation.
- There is no fuel in factories and they are closed because of that.
- There should be no compromise in education. Primary education should be strengthened.
- There should be an IIT, IIM and AIIMS in every city in the country.
- We worry about disease but not health. We need health insurance for everyone.
- If we want a place of prestige in the global forum, we have to have our own branding.
- Tourism has a lot of power...terrorism divides, tourism unites.
- My Idea of India:
Satyamev Jayate
Vasudheva Kutambakam
Sarva Panth Samabhav
Sarve bhavantu Sukhinah, sarve santu niramaya... - With the blessings of Advaniji, we will go to our constituencies... electoral victory is born in polling booths.
- Protect polling booths... be determined to win each polling booth...
- I thank the national leadership that an ordinary man like me has been entrusted with this responsibility... tell everyone, a "chaiwallah" is fighting the elections. Modi doesn't have any wealth and even the poorest would contribute.
