BJP president Rajnath Singh and senior party leaders addressed a press conference on the recent crisis in the party due to Mr Advani's quitting party posts. At the press conference, the entourage of top BJP leaders announced that senior leader LK Advani had taken back his resignation.
Following are the highlights of the press conference:
- Advaniji had resigned but the parliamentary board had unanimously rejected his resignation
- We all met Advaniji and requested that we need his guidance
- He accepted our request
- He also spoke to RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat who asked him to respect party's decision
- He has decided he will accept the party's decision
- I requested Advaniji not to be here at the press conference as it would have been against common etiquette.
