Thiruvananthapuram: The Kerala government has allotted Rs 12 crore for development works in connection withthe Pongala festival to be held at the Attukal Devi temple on March 7.
The funds for the works had been set aside in the budget last year, Finance Minister K M Mani said in a release.
The development works cover 18 corporation wards around the temple, famed for the largest congregation of women devoteesevery year. The festival is described as the 'Sabarimala' of women.
