Chennai:
DMK petitioned the ElectionCommission alleging that ruling AIADMK was indulging indistribution of money in the bypoll-bound Sankaranakoil (SC)assembly constituency in Tirunelveli District.
In telegrams sent to Chief Election Commissioner S YQuraishi and state Chief Electoral Officer Praveen Kumar, DMKMP S Thangavelu and party advocate K S Radhakrishnan allegedMinisters camping in the district were distributing money tothe voters, in some places with the help of police.
"Police don't check AIADMK vehicles while we are beingsubjected to checks in violation of laws," they said.
Seeking the EC's intervention in preventing distributionof money, they said it should take all efforts to ensure fairpoll in the constituency.
