Five held for protesting against Valentine's Day celebrations

Coimbatore: Five workers of a Tamil Nadu-basedHindu outfit were arrested today when they attempted to stagea demonstration and destroy Valentine's day cards, police said.

The Hindu Makkal Katchi workers raised slogans againstcelebrating Valentine's Day falling on February 14, which theytermed as against Indian culture.

When they attempted to tear the cards they were carrying,police prevented and arrested them, sources said, adding, theyhad not obtained permission to stage a demostration.
