In a shocking incident, a 41-year-old man allegedly beheaded his wife at Edapadi in Salem district and later went to the police station with her severed head and surrendered there.
The man, a vendor, reportedly had frequent quarrels with his wife and suspected her fidelity. Last night, in a fit of rage, he allegedly attacked her with a sickle and chopped her head off.
The man has been arrested, Salem Superintendent of Police Muthuswamy said. He has a 21-year-old son and three daughters.
