Cuddalore: Workers of Neyveli LigniteCorporation would donate one day's salary, amounting to Rs twocrore, towards the Chief Ministers Thane Cyclone Relief fund,a top NLC official said.
NLC Chairman cum Managing director A R Ansari said theamount collected from 17801 workers and 4240 engineers wouldsoon be handed over to Chief Minister Jayalalithaa.
He said NLC is feeding over 1200 MW of power per houruninterruptedly to the Tamil Nadu grid.
Meanwhile V Thiyagarajan Joint Secretary NLC Engineersfederation said the Rs two crore contribution was very meagreand that the Board of Directors should convene a meeting andpass a resolution to contribute at least Rs 100 crore towardsrelief work.
