SBI donates electronic display board to temple

Rameswaram: State Bank of India's Tamil Nadu circle today donated a Rs 2.10 lakh electronic display board to the famous Sri Ramanathaswamy temple here to enable officials display all details of poojas, darshans,  festivals and ticket sevas.

Speaking to reporters, Sarad Sharma, Chief General Manager, SBI, Tamil Nadu, said the bank would install one more ATM machine in this island town as the present ATM is being used to more than 100 per cent of its capacity by pilgrims from various parts of India.

He also said two more employees would be appointed for the Rameswaram Branch of SBI to cope with the workload.

There are also plans to sell gold coins of Ramanathaswamy temple, like in Tiruchendur, he said.

Sharma said SBI had donated Rs two crore for the Thane cyclone relief operations.
