Chennai:
AIADMK has decided to field Sankarankoil Municipality Chairperson S Muthuselvi as its nominee for the by-election to Sankarankoil (SC) assembly constituency.
The Election Commission has yet to announce the schedule for the bypolls.
By-election to the seat has been necessitated following the death of AIADMK minister C Karuppasamy in October last.
Representing Sankarankoil constituency in Tirunelveli district, Karuppasamy was one of the four legislators who were elected to the Assembly in 1996 when the AIADMK was routed. He was elected four times from the constituency.
