BJP executive member I P Singh suspended

Lucknow: The state executive member of the Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP), I P Singh, has been suspended from the party for indulging in anti-party activities.

"Singh has been suspended with immediate effect by state president Surya Pratap Shahi and has been asked to submit his reply within 15 days," party General Secretary Narendra Singh said.

Mr Singh had yesterday demanded removal of Babu Singh Kushwaha and action against state party president Shahi for inducting the former family welfare minister in the Mayawati government into the party fold.

The BJP was yesterday left with a huge embarrasment after inducting Kushwaha, whose house was raided by the CBI in the multi-crore NRHM scam, as friends and foes attacked the decision forcing the party to decline him a ticket in Assembly elections.
