Campaigning for third phase of Uttar Pradesh polls ends
Lucknow: Campaigning for the third phase of Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections, covering 56 seats spread over 10 districts, ended today.

"Campaigning for the third phase of elections, polling for which would be held on February 15, ended this evening," joint chief electoral officer Anita Meshram told reporters in Lucknow.

Ten districts where polling would be held on Wednesday include CSM Nagar, Sultanpur, Kaushambi, Allahabad, Jaunpur, Chandauli, Varanasi, Sant Ravidas Nagar, Mirzapur and Sonbhadra.

"Over 1.75 crore voters, including 90.5 lakh men and 80.3 lakh women, are expected to cast their votes to decide the fate of 1,018 candidates," Meshram said.

The third phase would decide the fate of three cabinet ministers, one minister of state, 29 sitting MLAs, 14 former ministers, BJP Legislative Party Leader Om Prakash Singh and former Vidhan Sabha speaker Kesari Nath Tripathi.
