Bangalore: Police in poll-bound Karnataka have arrested three persons for allegedly transporting Rs 7 lakh and liquor worth Rs 15 lakh for distribution among voters in two separate incidents.
Belgaum police today arrested two persons who were illegally transporting Rs 7 lakh in a car allegedly to distribute it among voters.
Both cash and car were confiscated, police said.
A 25-year-old man was arrested yesterday and 75 liquor bottles of different brands valued at Rs 15 lakh recovered from him, a police statement here said.
Elections will be held for 224-assembly seats on May 5.
