Naveen Chawla, Chief Election Commissioner of India is on a pre-election tour to Haryana.
On Sunday, he said in Chandigarh that the Election Commission (EC) can consider re-scheduling the dates of counting of votes for the assembly elections in Haryana and Maharashtra and that of Arunachal Pradesh would remain unchanged.
They had given one date of counting as retrieving EVM machines in Arunachal Pradesh takes time.
Naveen Chawla also reviewed the preparedness for elections and met senior civil and police officers in Chandigarh.
Polling would be held simultaneously for all the three states on October 13, and earlier schedule suggested counting of votes after nine days on October 22, but now EC is reviewing the counting dates.
