Guwahati:
BJP on March 27 described the Congress manifesto for the upcoming Assembly polls in Assam as a "bundle of lies".
"The manifesto contains issues which the Congress had promised to fulfil in the last 10 years of its rule and is a bundle of lies," BJP national spokesman Shahnawaz Hussain told reporters.
"The promises made in the manifesto are nothing new. These are the promises which were mentioned in the last two manifestos and thus the party has lost moral right to publish the manifesto," he said.
Hussain said 27 PSUs were closed down in the state during its 10 year-rule and wondered how the party promised to create nine lakh new jobs.
Claiming that the BJP had received "good response" from Muslim voters this time, Hussain alleged that during the last 50 years of Congress rule, there was no improvement in the plight of the community.
BJP, he said, was receiving "very encouraging reports" from the nooks and corners of the state about its prospects.
