Aizawl: The ruling Congress party today appealed to voters to return the party to power in the coming Assembly polls so that it could continue its development work.
A resolution adopted at the 35th general assembly in Aizawl said that the projects being taken up under its long-term policy especially the flagship programme of the present government, the New Land Use Policy (NLUP), should not be handed over to other parties.
The party also appealed to all Congressmen to work hard in the December 4 Assembly polls to ensure that the party bagged all the seats of the 40-member state legislature.
The Congress also claimed that there was all-round development in all the sectors during the past five years during which there were no allegations of corruption leveled against the ministers even by the opposition parties.
The general assembly was addressed by the party president and state chief minister Lal Thanhawla and other top leaders.
