New Delhi: Angered over a Bharatiya Janata Party advertisement in Madhya Pradesh newspapers depicting five Union ministers blindfolded, the Congress today moved the Election Commission seeking immediate action against BJP.
In a complaint to the poll panel, Congress leader and secretary of the AICC legal department K C Mittal said the advertisement showing P Chidambaram, Kamal Nath, Kapil Sibal, Jyotiraditya Scindia blindfolded was violative of the Model Code of Conduct.
"BJP has not only made personal attack on the Ministers but has also made malicious and defamatory allegations against them... it is totally derogatory, distorted and has been issued in utter violation of the Model Code," Mittal said.
Congress wanted immediate action against BJP and its office bearers in the state as also impounding of the newspapers and magazines.
Mittal also demanded action against newspapers for publication of the ads.
