Kolkata:
Kolkata Police Commissioner, Gautam Mohan Chakraborty, will have to be replaced before the West Bengal Assembly Elections beginning April 18.
The Election Commission has sought his replacement apparently because he has completed more than three years in office. Acting on the instructions of the Election Commission, the state Chief Electoral Officer has informed the Chief Secretary about the Commission's requirement.
The government has also been asked to prepare a panel of three officers for the post and submit it to the Election Commission. The commission will choose the candidate.
