New Delhi:
The "warmth of the BJP's good governance" will fill the air by this evening in Jharkhand and Jammu and Kashmir, predicted the party's spokesperson Sambit Patra today.
The BJP is expected to win the state of Jharkhand but a fractured result is expected in Jammu and Kashmir, with the PDP, headed by Mehbooba Mufti, likely to get the most seats.
(Track LIVE results)The campaign for the BJP has been fronted in both states by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. When asked why the party appears to have
abandoned its tradition of declaring a chief ministerial candidate for state elections, Mr Patra said "a decision would be taken in Delhi."
"Is that not the Congress-ification of the BJP?" Mr Patra was asked by NDTV's Prannoy Roy, who added that while the BJP may not refer to it as the "high command", the central leadership of the party appears to be calling all the shots.
"Ours is not the high command culture," Mr Patra responded. "Ours is different. Our parliamentary board decides these things under the vision of Narendra Modi and the vision of development," he added.
