Udaipur:
Narendra Modi, Gujarat Chief Minister and BJP's prime ministerial candidate, addressed a rally in poll-bound Rajasthan's Udaipur today.
Here are the highlights of his speech:
- I haven't seen anything like this before
- This is my first public meeting in Rajasthan after assembly elections were declared
- Desh Bhakti of the tribal communities inspires us even today
- If we look at 1857 rebellion, history is testimony to the fact that tribals were the first to challenge the British
- Their patriotism and sacrifice still inspires us
- People remember Jallianwallah Bagh, but the tribals in the region have not been acknowledged in their fight against the British
- Rana Pratap spent his life in this region, preparing for his wars
- No one can separate Rajasthan and Gujarat
- In the last few days, a lot of inaugurations were happening at the expense of government exchequer
- There was a shortage of scissors in the market
- People who picked pockets for Rs 500 were cutting ribbons
- Even in Gujarat, they were doing it. I used to think why are they spending so much even in Gujarat. I was told the elections have been declared, and hence they are here.
- Shahzade came to Rajasthan and Congress leaders have still not understood what he said in Rajasthan
- He is preaching secularism to all of India
- Rahul Gandhi came to ask for support for Ashok Gehlot but question is does he trust Ashok Gehlot? Does he trust his own Chief Minister?
- If he did, he would not have gone to Gopalgarh without informing him.
- They came to Gopalgarh on stolen motorcycles.
- And who was driving their bikes? These are the people who pretend to preach to the Rajasthanis.
- Let me ask you: can you trust the Chief Minister that shahzada doesn'have faith in?
- Madam Sonia made the Human Rights Commission. That commission has used the worst words for Ashok Gehlot.
- That commission also doesn't have faith in Ashok Gehlot.
- There have been 25 communal riots in five years of Gehlot rule, more than 80 people have died
- Their minority commission has said this govt can't protect the minorities
- What did Rajasthan High Court say? It said if you don't know how to run a govt, then you should abandon the govt.
- Whether you believe me or Vasundhara jee not, I hope you will trust what the courts say.
- Governor of Rajasthan has also spoken against Gehlot.
- A govt which has been criticized by its Governor, High Court, Minority Commission and Rahul Gandhi himself, why should you trust that govt?
- If the women of this state cannot go to a minister's office, if it's not safe for them to visit a minister's office, how will the govt protect its women?
- The Congress arrogance has reached its limits.
- Tell me, is the govt accountable for its actions? They question BJP, what did you do?
- They said they will control inflation in 100 days, tell me what happened to inflation.
- When Vajpayee left the govt, comparing the inflation from then to now makes me wonder if the poor can even eat in this country
- Diesel was Rs 22 during Atal ji's govt. Today it has crossed Rs 60
- Onion, which is the most expensive today. Tell me how this crisis began
- There has been only 5 per cent deficit in onion's production, but rates have increased 1500 per cent
- These days instead of talking about people's welfare, Congress is running family serials.
- Family serials are very popular in Indian households
- The day Congress felt that they won't be able to form govt in Rajasthan again, CBI has started troubling Gulab Chand ji and Vasundhara Raje ji
- There are clear cases against Congress leaders but CBI is doing nothing. Had the same allegations been made against Raje, Raman Singh, Shivraj Singh CBI would not have been silent
- CBI being used for political purposes
- Congress should know there are only six months left. Then we will reveal your actions to the people of India
- I have not seen a CM who was so consistently after my life to get water from Narmada for Rajasthan
- But Gehlot govt has pushed Rajasthan back into darkness
- That's why I say - Congress free India
- Remove Congress from Rajasthan. And let the lotus bloom, coz that's where Goddess Lakshmi resides
- Rajasthan will be the force behind a new destiny of India
