Indore:
Madhya Pradesh Congress yesterday accused state Industries Minister, Kailash Vijayawargiya of violating model code of conduct by distributing money during a religious function at Mhow and asked the Election Commission to register a case against him.
In a complaint to the district Returning Officer, Madhya Pradesh Congress spokesman, Narendra Saluja alleged that Vijayawargiya had directly influenced voters by distributing currency notes to people during Chunri Yatra taken out by a social organisation at Mhow near Indore yesterday.
The complainant alleged that since the Model Code of Conduct was in force in the state in view of the November 25 assembly polls, Vijayawargiya had violated its provisions.
The minister was not available for comments.
