Madhya Pradesh: Poll panel reprimands BJP nominee for violation of poll code

Bhopal: The Election Commission has held BJP nominee from Narela Assembly constituency, Vishwas Sarang guilty of violation of the model code of conduct during the recently-held Assembly elections, and reprimanded him.

Sarang, the sitting MLA from the seat, had reportedly donated Rs one lakh to a Jain temple when the poll code was in force ahead of the November 25 elections.

In his reply to the election commission, Sarang admitted making donation and said it was done in the spur of the moment.

The EC found Sarang's reply unconvincing and held him guilty for flouting the code. It also reprimanded him over the incident.
