Bhopal: BJP's prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi will address 20 election meetings for his party in Madhya Pradesh, while Congress president Sonia Gandhi is scheduled to address three meetings as the state goes to polls on November 25.
According to BJP sources, besides Modi, the Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Sushma Swaraj, former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Uma Bharti, Leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha Arun Jaitley, former BJP presidents Venkaiah Naidu and Nitin Gadkari would also canvass for the party in the state.
"Modi will address meetings at 20 places in the urban areas of the state that were selected from a total of 180 areas, as the party felt that he has got more appeal in these places," BJP sources said.
BJP president Rajnath Singh will flag off his party's campaign by addressing four meetings in the Khandwa district.
Meanwhile, according to Congress sources, Sonia Gandhi will address election meetings on November 15 at Khargone and Rewa and another meeting at Meghnagar in Jhabua district on November 21.
