Maharashtra: Congress 'heirs' get tickets

Mumbai: The suspense is finally over. After withholding their names for two days, the Congress has finally given tickets to Vilasrao Deshmukh's son and Sushil Kumar Shinde's daughter for the Maharashtra Assembly elections.

Amit Deshmukh will contest from his father's bastion Latur while Praniti Sinde will also contest from her father's constituency Solapur.

This comes after the Congress party declared that the son of the President of India would be the party's candidate from Amravati in Maharashtra. The state votes next month.
